Ekrem Ozlu is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ekrem is in the Soil Science program with double minoring in Geography and Statistics, focusing on carbon stabilization and feedback mechanisms to soil physical structure under the supervision of Dr. Francisco Arriaga. Mr. Ozlu received his B.S. in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (2011) from the Ataturk University, Turkey and his M.S. in Plant Science emphasizing in Applied Soil Physics (2016) from South Dakota State University. Ekrem Ozlu is a YLSY scholar (YLSY bursiyeri) who is studying in US by the collaboration of Turkish National Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Mr. Ozlu is recipient of ACS (ASA, American Society of Agronomy; CSSA, Crop Science Society America; and SSSA, Soil Science Society of America) leadership conference award in Minneapolis, USA (2015) and SSSA (Soil Science Society of America) Future Leaders in Science Award in US Congress, DC, USA (2018). Mr. Ozlu is currently serving for multiple committees as part of ASA, CSSA, and SSSA. He is leading the ACS (ASA, CSSA, and SSSA) graduate student committee.
